My geodes are formed from stoneware clay, oxides, glass, and high fire wire and are fired in my electric kiln to just under 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. I never know exactly how they’ll turn out, so it’s pretty exciting each time I open a kiln load! While it may look like there are sharp crystals, the surface is actually very smooth and glassy – all the crystals are underneath.
